Trump’s pardons of various crooks are really intended as a pardon for himself, and for all his own missteps, past, present and future. And tonight, Mike Bloomberg will face his first uncontrolled public appearance. That, as he takes on hopefully probing questions from reporters and fire from opponents as he steps onto the debate stage. –Both topics today for On Target’s Larry Sparano and Kent Garrett of WIOX Radio New York:
Wherever you turn for news today, analysts and commentators, often disguised as “reporters” are yelling, screaming, and distorting what is supposed to be real information. Why is this happening, and how much worse will it get? That’s what On Target’s Larry Sparano and veteran AP newsman Bryant Thomas are chewing on today:
CNN is running a piece from political reporter and commentator Chris Cillizza. It cites a survey showing that Fox News viewers are much less likely to view other news outlets than those who sample a variety of news sources. And hence, Fox News junkies have a much more distorted view of the world and are much more prone to accepting the lies which Trump and Fox News purvey. But On Target’s Larry Sparano and Kent Garrett of WIOX Radio New York have a big difference of opinion about that:
It’s been more than three decades since Noam Chomsky and Edward Herman published their landmark book, “Manufacturing Consent.” It exposed how media shapes thought and how news outlets and reporters are used to carry the party line and control dissent in the U.S. and other nations. Has anything changed in the years since? Is media now less or more controlled by the power elites? Here’s On Target’s Larry Sparano, in discussion with Kent Garrett of WIOX Radio New York:
Despite all the praise of all-things Obama from the liberal media, one of the brash new Democrats in Congress says it was all an illusion. And behind the “pretty face” and “polish,” was a president who, in many respects, conducted business as usual –in favor or war, Wall Street and the status quo. It’s much of the same type of business for which Trump is being constantly and intensely criticized. Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minnesota) complaints against President Obama are detailed in a new Politico report. On-Target’s Larry Sparano gives reasons why he strongly agrees with her, in this discussion with Kent Garrett of WIOX New York:
Trump and Hannity, pictured above: That pretty much says it all about the incestuous relationship between Trump and Fox News. In a recent article in the New Yorker magazine Jane Mayer details that relationship, which she says is the closest we’ve come to official “State News.” Here’s a discussion on that article between On-Target’s Larry Sparano and Kent Garrett of Wiox Radio New York:
It looks like Jussie Smollett’s report of a racial attack will turn out to be the latest example of hoaxes which are increasing the racial divide in this country. Such hoaxes come from white and blacks, and from liberal and conservative perpetrators. Here’s Larry Sparano of On-Target in discussion with Kent Garrett of WIOX Radio New York:
The Political Theater of the Absurd has reached new lows, as Republicans, Conservatives and Fox News continue efforts to convince the public that Climate Change is a hoax. The roll-out of the Green New Deal by liberal Democrats is allowing Climate Change deniers new opportunities to depict as lunatics those who argue that Climate Change is real and is a dire threat to humanity. Here’s the latest discussion between On-Target’s Larry Sparano and Kent Garrett of WIOX Radio New York.
